Rare natural turquoise from Nepal, brought back to France in 1993.
Turquoise beads pierced to be mounted on a wire.
More porous stone because stabilized "old-time".
Sold to the unit.

Chemical composition: CuAl6 (PO4) 4 (OH) 8 - 4H2O,
Turquoise is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum.
Hardness: 5-6 on the Mohs scale.
Clarity: translucent to opaque. There is only one known deposit, in the state of Virginia, where turquoise is found in transparent or translucent crystals. These samples are rare and expensive.
Deposits: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Israel, Mexico, Tanzania and the United States.
In France, the Montebras-en-Soumans mine near Boussac en Creuse (Limousin) is believed to be the only turquoise deposit in Europe.

Known treatments for Turquoise:
Turquoise is porous and therefore often soaked in an artificial resin that improves color and hardens the surface. Color improvements can be achieved with oil or paraffin, or other... But here, these Turquoises are treated naturally as they once were. They come from an old stock bought in India in the early 1990s

This beautiful color is caused by copper containing aluminum phosphate and hydroxyd and hydrated iron.
Crystalline system: rarely triclinical, the sets are shaped like a bunch of grapes.
Hardness: 5-6 (Mohs scale)
Density: 2.31 - 2.84

You will receive the stone as in the photos.
The photos are taken in macro mode.
