Triplite from Brazil, very rare gem especially from this provenance.
Weight: 0.7 carats.
Dimensions: 6.3 x 3.7 x 2.8 mm.
Shape: emerald cut.
Color: Bright orange red. Very warm and bright color.
Treatment: none, unheated, 100% natural stone.
Hardness: 5 to 6
The Triplite is as difficult to carve as the Apatite. Fragile by its low hardness and it clives easily.
Warning: soluble in hydrochloric acid and melts with a blowtorch.
Here is a rare gem that I particularly like and that will delight collectors, I'm sure.
It is an iron phosphate and manganese that crystallizes in the monoclinical system.
Chemical formula: (Mn2, Fe2, Mg,Ca)2 (PO4) (F,OH)
The TRIPLITE was discovered two years ago in France in the Limousin in the quarry of the Vilatte-Haute, in Chanteloube (commune of Razès) in the Ambazac Mountains. Its crystalline gem-quality shape comes mainly from Pakistan and sometimes from Brazil. Gems without inclusions are extremely rare.
This one comes from Brazil and it is particularly attractive with its warm red-orange color and beautiful inclusions that add bright and sparkling effects to its beauty.
Its name comes from the Greek "triplos" because it has cleavages in all three directions.
You will receive the gem as in the photos.
